Each class will have a different theme with fun activities, plenty of learning opportunities, and lots of animal interactions.  Sign up for one class at a time or all classes together. Registration will close the Monday before each class.

September 7th 1:30-3:30pm

Amazing African Animals – Learn all about the amazing diversity of animals that come from the great continent of Africa.  We will learn about some of the African animals we have here at the zoo and how they would interact in the wild.

October 5th 1:30-3:30pm

Mythbusters – To get the kids geared up for Halloween, we will be exploring some myths about some of the animal kingdoms’ less loved creatures, that many consider creepy.  Join us as we discover if snakes are slimy and if bats drink blood.

November 2nd 1:30-3:30pm

Grossology - Squishy meets science for this class as we discover the ooey, gooey truth behind some of our animals’ not-so-pleasant quirks!  Why do giraffes drool so much?  Why do frogs feel so slimy?  Join us as we learn the facts about the disgusting ways of our animal friends.

December 7th 1:30-3:30pm

Enrichment Day – Learn what it takes to keep the zoo animals happy, motivated, and entertained.  During this class we will make some fun items to give to the animals at the zoo and learn some of the animals favorite “toys” to play with.

January 4th 1:30-3:30pm

Animal Senses – Widen your eyes, wiggle your nose, and open your ears as we get ready to explore how animals use their different senses to get around their environment and survive in the wild.

February 1st 1:30-3:30pm

Conservation Situation – We do a lot here at the Zoo to conserve resources, educate people on conservation and help with projects that support animals around the world.  Come learn about all the things people do to help wildlife and do some projects so you can do your part to conserve as well!

March 1st 1:30-3:30pm

World Record Animals – From the tallest to the smallest, we will be learning about some of the world’s most unique, record breaking animals.

April 5th 1:30-3:30pm

Animal Babies – Spring is here!  Did you know a baby porcupine is called a porcupette?  Join us in this class as we learn all about animals’ babies, what they are called, and some of the present, and hopefully future babies, the zoo may be expecting!

May 3rd 1:30-3:30pm

Family Fun Day – The whole family is welcome to attend this class! As we do a big group project you will see some animals up close and tour the Education Animal holding area.  Adults and children under 5 and over 12 are free.
