Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Night Eyes, Iowa’s merry not scary Halloween event! This year Blank Park Zoo will be celebrating its 23rd Night Eyes and we are glad you want to be a part of the fun! Please look over the following information about our volunteer needs this year.
You are welcome to wear a costume. The zoo does have a selection of costumes you may borrow. When selecting a costume, please remember the following:
-Must be merry, not scary
-WEATHER APPROPRIATE - you will be outside during your shift
Please park in the zoo’s main parking lot. For second & third shift volunteers on Saturday and Sunday, you may need to park in the overflow lot. We will have an assigned area for volunteers to park in overflow and will try to have some golf carts to transport you to the Discovery Center. If you are volunteering with other people, please try to arrive together or carpool.
When you arrive for your shift please come to the Discovery Center Conference Center to check in and get your assignment. Doors will not open until 10 minutes before your shift begins.
You will be able to sign up for an assignment using the Volunteer Spot link. Please note: there may be times we need to reassign you to another area. We appreciate your flexibility while volunteering. We will have the following opportunities for volunteers:
