Safari Splash

Be sure to beat the summer heat at the Blank Park Zoo August 2 through 6! Each afternoon from 12 to 4 pm, kids will enjoy cooling off in an inflatable Slip N' Slide. Hurry, the first 500 people through the Safari Splash gates (ZooPlex gate) will receive a frozen treat from our friends at Hy-Vee! Other fun water activities will also be available at the Splash Pad (ZooPlex). In addition, guests will see how some of the animals keep cool during the dog days of summer. All activities are free with regular zoo admission and free for zoo members.

 
At the Splash Pad kids of all ages will have fun cooling down with wading pools, a wild palm tree sprinkler and mini Slip N' Slides! Kids will also have the chance to slide down and make a splash in the inflatable Tropical Slip N' Slide!

Just like you, Zoo animals need to cool down too! Every afternoon there will be special enrichment activities and keeper chats about how the animals keep cool during the summer.

                  Gibbons - 1:30 PM
                  Tigers - 2:00 PM
                  Otters - 2:30 PM
                  Lions - 3:00 PM
                  Sea Lions - 3:30 PM

Blank Park Zoo Splash Pad Guidelines:

• NO lifeguard will be on duty.
• Children must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
• NO shoes on the Slip N' Slide.
• One person per lane at a time on the Slip N' Slide.
• NO horseplay.
• A swimsuit is preferred. No clothing that is sharp will be allowed on the Slip N' Slide.
• Are changing facilities available? No, however, a portable restroom is near the area.
• HAVE FUN!
