Birdies for Charity

The Blank Park Zoo is partnering with the Principal Charity Classic's Birdies for Charity.
Every birdie made during the Principal Charity Classic means bucks for charity!  Make a pledge and 100% of your donation will go directly to the charity of your choice.
There are two ways to pledge:
  • A per-birdie amount for every birdie made by the Champions Tour players during the three-day Principal Charity Classic, or
  • A one-time flat donation

Minimum flat donation - $10
Minimum per-birdie - $.02
Birdies made in 2007 - 727
Birdies made in 2008 - 787
Birdies made in 2009 - 795

For example:
Individual pledge: $.02 per birdie: $.02 x 800 birdies = $16
Corporate Pledge: $2.00 per birdie x 800 birdies = $1600

Bonus Bucks! (Provided by Sammons Financial Group)
If the zoo reaches a total of $1,500 in flat donations or $1.50 in penny pledges, we will receive a 25% match of total pledges!  Additionally, if the Zoo generates enough donations to be in the top 25 charities, we will also receive more bonus bucks.  For

 Zoo Total Donations: $3.00 per birdie x 800 birdies = $2,400 x 1.25 = $3,000
What is a "birdie"?
A “birdie” is a score of one stroke better than “par” for any golf hole on the course.  “Par” is the normal expected score of a golf professional on any given hole.  For example, on a par 4 hole, a score of 3 is a birdie.
