Blank Park Zoo to Give Free Admission to Military on September 11, 2011

DES MOINES, Iowa (Sept. 8, 2011) – Iowa’s Blank Park Zoo announced today that it will give free admission to current members of the military and up to three of their guests on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011.

 

“We wanted to recognize the important service and sacrifice of the members of the military on the ten year anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001,” said Anne Shimerdla, director of Zoo operations.

 

Blank Park Zoo will also debut a flag at half-staff on a newly installed flag pole located in front of the Bald Eagle exhibit this weekend.
