Zoo winter fun -- Zoo Tots, Zoo Tunes & more!
Ever wondered what happens at the Zoo during the cooler months? Just what is there to see and do?
Many of the Zoo’s animals are still outside or can be seen in the Discovery Center daily from 10 am to 4 pm November through April, while others go to their indoor holding areas. For an updated list of the animals on exhibit, check out the Visit the Zoo page on our website or call 515-285-4722.
Blank Park Zoo also offers fun activities and classes for you and your families to enjoy. Registration is now open for Zoo Tunes, Zoo Tots and Zoo Tots Cooking, which are geared towards pre-school aged children. Blank Park Zoo members save big on our classes! Zoo Tunes is a new music class at Blank Park Zoo for adults and the little ones they love. Enjoy songs, instruments, dance, hands-on activities and cute animal visitors. Adults will be actively involved in the class, helping to engage young children in music. Sessions are about 30-45 minutes long and are for children ages six months to two years old. Visit our website for more information and to register!
Both our traditional Zoo Tots and Zoo Tots Cooking classes are returning this year! Enjoy crafts, story time and live animals during our traditional Zoo Tots class, or learn how to make a creative tasty treat like the one below with your toddler during Zoo Tots Cooking class. Sessions are about 45 minutes long and are for children ages 2-4 years with an accompanying adult. Check out the Zoo Tots registration page for class times and registration.
Classes fill quickly, so register today to have the opportunity to join your fun animal friends in an exciting, hands-on adventure!
