Blank Park Zoo announced today its spring and summer lineup that includes the grand opening of a $4 million Africa exhibit that will feature rhinoceros, eland, kori bustards, spurred tortoise and an aviary with African birds.

Blank Park Zoo to host three conservation specialists on conservation of Okapi, Lions & Rhinos. The first of the series will be on February 28 when John Lukas, founder of the Okapi Conservation Project in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will speak about saving the okapi.

Iowa’s Blank Park Zoo released a new ad in honor of Sunday’s Big Game. The ad depicts what some Blank Park Zoo animals think about football and specifically, the Big Game.

Blank Park Zoo’s Red Pandas picked the winner of the Big Game this morning. Keepers placed two boxes in the exhibit of the same size and labeled the boxes with the team’s logos.
