Tom & Jo Ghrist Great Cats
Two species of great cats call Blank Park Zoo home - the Amur tiger and African lion. The endangered Amur tiger, also known as the Siberian tiger, loves to swim in the water and lives a solitary life, only socializing with other tigers during mating season. The African lion generally likes warmer conditions and during the winter loves to lay down on the heated rocks in front of the visitor viewing window.
