Seals / Sea Lions at Hub Harbor in honor of the Hubbell family
Blank Park Zoo’s California sea lion and harbor seal exhibit was rebuilt in 2012 and features two observation decks and an underwater viewing area, which is heated in the winter. Many of Blank Park Zoo’s California sea lions and harbor seals are rescued animals that could not be released back to the wild due to health or behavioral issues. The animals are part of a husbandry training program that allows the animals to take an active part in their healthcare. During the summer months, keepers and animals offer demonstrations of these training sessions at scheduled times.
