Exciting news. Ayana the eastern black rhinoceros is pregnant with number two. Watch this video to learn more.
Based on the gestation of her previous pregnancy, she could be due starting on February 25, 2019. Blank Park Zoo veterinarians have been performing ultrasounds, hormone testing, thermal imaging testing and have seen fetal movement (the calf is kicking sometimes in the afternoon.) Ayana was a wonderful mother the first time and we believe she will be this time as well.

The results show possibly a rib cage or a spine:
