Camps are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Each camp is for children entering grade 4-5 in fall 2025.

2. How Blank Park Zoo is dedicated to animal care, conservation, and community engagement.
3. Ways they can help wildlife through programs and everyday practices.
Children will CONNECT…
1. With excitement about the zoo and nature.
2. With motivation to work or volunteer at the zoo, with another conservation group, or with their own community.
3. With curiosity about science phenomena and nature related careers.
Children will TAKE ACTION by…
1. Expressing their voice as advocates for nature, wildlife, and people.
2. Taking care of their local environment and community through participating in programs that support sustainability and conservation efforts.
3. Sharing what they learned and experiences with others.
Children will DISCOVER…
1. Ways that animals are different from other living and nonliving things.
2. How scientists can group and organize animals based on “like traits.”
3. Vocabulary that scientists use for classifying or sorting animals.
Children will CONNECT…
1. With excitement to explore the Zoo and see real-life examples of the different animal classes.
2. With empathy for wildlife and the struggles they face in nature.
3. With curiosity about science and nature.
Children will TAKE ACTION by…
1. Observing nature and identifying traits that help us better understand the world around us.
2. Practicing responsible environmental stewardship in ways that help organism diversity such as planting native plants, creating habitats in their own backyard, and being a role model for respecting nature.
3. Sharing what they learned and experiences with others.

1. Organisms that make up wetland ecosystems.
2. The difference between habitats and ecosystems.
3. Similarities and differences between habitats around the world including different types of wetlands.

3. With curiosity about how animals survive and thrive in wetland conditions.
