Community education programs are organized through community partner organizations such as city parks and recreation departments and school districts. These programs are held around the Des Moines metro for all ages. Each class will explore different animal and nature-related topics.
Registration for each program is coordinate through the identified partner organization.

Explore nature and learn about animals in your very own neighborhood through different activities, games, and more! A Portion of each program will be outdoors, so come prepared for the weather.

Join Blank Park Zoo for an evening of fun mixed with a bite of learning. Explore through science experiments, snacks, and more. Meet live animals and make your family night a wild one!

Program Length: 1 hour
Why do animals look the way they do? Throughout the session, participants will learn about how the physical appearances of animals have developed, how they help those animals, how they are perceived by other species, how diet can affect appearance, and how they change over time.
