With guidance from both you and our zoo educators, children will learn through exploration and play. This is a child-centered program that is less structured than our traditional classes. During Polliwogs, children will engage in free play and hands-on experiences at various sensory bins and tactile stations around the classroom. Stations consist of a variety of natural substrates, tools, toy animals, and much more. This class not only supports young children’s social, physical and emotional development, but also helps them connect to and develop empathy for wildlife and nature.
Join us as we discover the wonders of nature through play, songs, stories, and visits from our animal friends.
Registration and pre-payment are required
Class cost covers child and one accompanying adult. Additional adults must use their zoo membership or pay admission. Polliwogs is structured as in a way that encourages parent/child bonding time as you follow your child’s lead in discovering the joys of nature play. As such, we ask that additional siblings do not attend class.
Each session includes four classes, families are welcome to sign up for multiple sessions.
Blank Park Zoo hours are 10am-4pm, October-April. Zoo staff will greet you at Admissions approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of class.
All sales are final. No refunds will be offered unless class is cancelled due to low enrollment. Rescheduling depends on class availability and may only be done once. Rescheduling fees may apply.
