Age Range: For ages 5-6 with a caregiver (cost is per child)
Class Length: ~1 hour and 15 minutes

Cost: $10 members, $18 non-members per class
This class will be similar in structure/content to Zoo Tots Cooking but the activities will be geared towards slightly older kids.
Join your favorite furry, feathery, slimy, and fuzzy animal friends in an exciting, hands-on adventure during which you and your child will make a creative, tasty treat and participate in fun activities. These classes also include stories, activities, zoo exploration, craft and visits from live animals.

December: 18 – Winter Wonderland
As fall turns to winter, animals must prepare for the snow, ice, and cold to come.While learning about what animals do in the winter, we will create some snow-covered trees by decorating waffle cone cupcakes with frosting and candy.
January 16: Purrfect Chili Muffins
Join us today for some nice warm chili and corn bread transformed into a lion with a cheesy mane. While enjoying our snack, let’s learn all about lions. Did you know their ROAR can be heard for miles?!
January 30: Big Catch Cookies
Come join our finned friends at the zoo and discover a life below the water’s surface. We will create scaly fish
cookies and edible fishing poles with gummy worm bait while learning all about FISH!
February 13: Festive Fruit Dip
As we explore animals at the zoo that enjoy eating all sorts of different kinds of fruit, we will make a tasty dip for dunking our own fruit slices.
February 27: Pizza Snakes
Slither on over and explore why snakes are so ssssssssspecial as we stuff pizza rolls and shape them into long, skinny snakes.
March 12: Let’s Get Squirrely
Today we will use candy and frosting to transform a cookie into a cute little squirrel face. As we explore squirrels and how they search for food, we will also make an edible acorn out of Hershey’s kisses and other sweets!
April 2: Critter Trail Mix
Trail mix is a great snack when we’re exploring the woods where our animal friends live. Use various sweet and salty snacks to create your own, unique trail mix!
April 16: Bunny Rolls
Let’s stretch, wrap, and roll dough into a cute little bunny with tall floppy ears and discover how rabbits keep safe in the wild.
April 30: Panda Cupcakes
Did you know giant pandas love to climb trees and eat bamboo, similar to the red pandas that live at the Zoo? Join us as we learn all about giant pandas while creating panda face cupcakes with black and white candies/frosting.
Class cost covers child and one accompanying adult. Additional adults must use their zoo membership or pay admission. For non-members, class cost does include admission to the Zoo for the day.
Classes are the same during each theme week, please register for only one class per week.
Blank Park Zoo hours are 10am-4pm, October-April.
All sales are final. No refunds will be offered unless class is cancelled due to low enrollment. Rescheduling depends on class availability and may only be done once. Rescheduling fees may apply.
