Join your favorite furry, feathery, slimy, and fuzzy animal friends in an exciting, hands-on adventure during which we will read books, make crafts, create animal-themed snacks, enjoy visits from live animals, participate in educational activities and free play, and explore the zoo. Times vary and are included on the registration page.

November 20-23: Mountain Mania
Imagine life in the mountains…slopes too steep to climb and heights and views that take your breath away.Snow leopards, red pandas, and tigers are just a few of the animals that prowl the mountain tops. Today we will learn about the wildlife that call the mountains home.
December 11-14: Sweets for the Beasts
In the wild, many animals spend their days actively searching for food, shelter, and water. The animals at the zoo need ways to keep busy too! In this class, we will learn about how zookeepers enrich the lives of the animals that live here.
January 8-11: Snow Explorers
While some animals prefer to sleep through the cold winter months, others enjoy playing out in the snow as much as you do! Today we will learn all about how animals stay warm and find food throughout the winter.
January 22-25: Penguin Parade
Waddle on over to the zoo and take a leap below the surface, where you will find these lively black and white birds flashing through the water. We will discover why they are so fast out at sea, how they hunt and take care of their babies, and many other neat qualities of these amazing birds!
February 5-8: Chomp, Gulp, Crunch!
Animals eat so many different kinds of things! Let’s discover the necessary tools animals have to help them crack, tear, or swallow their food!
February 19-22: Little Stinkers
Stinky skunks, pokey porcupines, slimy salamanders….today is all about amazing animals and some useful qualities that make them so special. Spraying a yucky stench is just one of the neat ways animals keep safe in the wild!
March 4-7: See You Later, Alligator
Did you know alligators make great moms, protecting their hatchlings in the nest? In today’s class, children will discover the amazing life of a gator!
March 25-28: Tree Dwellers
Ever wonder what it would be like to live high above the ground? Today we will explore animals scurrying through the trees and hiding among the leaves.
April 8-11: Dino Discoveries
Are you fascinated by dinosaurs? Join us as we journey through time, discovering unique features of the creatures that roamed the earth millions of years ago. Today children will compare zoo animals to some of their amazing dinosaur ancestors and imagine a world that included these unique animals!
April 22-25: Frog Friends
From tadpoles wiggling in the water to frogs leaping between lily pads, kids will discover so many fun things about these slimy amphibians!
Class cost covers child and one accompanying adult. Additional adults must use their zoo membership or pay admission. For non-members, class cost does include admission to the Zoo for the day.
Classes are the same during each theme week, please register for only one class per week.
Blank Park Zoo hours are 10am-4pm, October-April. For participants that attend class at 10am during those months, Zoo staff will greet you at Admissions approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of class.
All sales are final. No refunds will be offered unless class is cancelled due to low enrollment. Rescheduling depends on class availability and may only be done once. Rescheduling fees may apply.
