These classes are designed for children ages 2-4 years with an accompanying adult.
Join your favorite furry, feathery, slimy, and fuzzy animal friends in an exciting, hands-on adventure during which we will read books, make crafts, create animal-themed snacks, enjoy visits from live animals, participate in educational activities and free play, and explore the zoo. Classes last a little over an hour and are held alternating Wednesdays through Saturdays. Times vary and are included on the registration page.
All Zoo Tots classes are approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes in length and are available for two to four year olds with an accompanying adult.
The regular cost to enroll you and your child in a class is $16.00 and includes admission to the Zoo for the day. Blank Park Zoo members enjoy a discounted rate of $10.
Classes are the same during each theme week, so please register for only one class per week.

Jan 16-19: Winter Wilderness
Trekking through the ice and snow is tough work! We can hideout indoors, but how do animals in the wild manage? Let’s explore the winter wonderland of Iowa and discover how some animals thrive during the most frigid months of the year.
Jan 30-Feb 2: Ferret Fest
Come have some fun learning all about ferrets. We will explore their shape, the way they can move and bend their bodies, and why such features are perfect for a life underground!
Feb 13-16: Slithering Secrets
Snakes can be quite frightful due to some of their differences. Today, we will explore why snakes are so special and how their differences are actually what makes them so neat!
Feb 27-Mar 2: Fishy Fanatics
Today we will dive below the surface and join some finned friends as we discover life under the sea. Through song, pretend play, and art, let’s learn all about the amazing creatures that flash, dip, and spout through the water!
Mar 13-16: Bird Watchers
Beaks, wings, feathers, nests, and eggs – this class is for the birds! Today we will learn all about these winged wonders and discover what makes birds so special.
Mar 27-30: Animal Youngsters
Ever wonder what it would be like to grow up as a rhino, an alligator, or a butterfly?Let’s compare our childhood to those of animals and discover what the early days are like for different types of critters.
Apr 10-13: Mud Mania
Getting messy is one of our favorite ways to learn here at the zoo! Today we will get our hands dirty and explore how different animals use mud.
Apr 24-27: Farmyard Friends
Join as we explore the sights, sounds and animals found on the farm and how domestic animals like a horse differ from the deer and other wildlife we see in our yards and in the woods.
Classes fill quickly, so don’t forget to register early!
All sales are final. No refunds will be offered unless class is cancelled due to low enrollment. Rescheduling depends on class availability, rescheduling fees may apply.
