The Scoop on Poop (THREE DAY CAMP) – Grab goggles and gloves because this week is oeey, gooey gross!  Animals have some not-so-pleasant quirks that can actually teach us a lot! What is in that scat?  Why do giraffes drool so much? Join us this week to learn the facts about the disgusting ways of our animal friends.
Camp Dates: June 5-7, July 1-3
Cost (Pro-rated for 3 days): $111 member/$156 non-member


Migration Vacation – North, South, East and West – animals go where they know best! Animals like the Monarch butterfly travel for thousands of miles, some birds fly south for the winter. This week, we will find out how and why animals take vacations, traveling from one place to another.
Camp Dates: June 10-14, July 15-19
Cost: $185 member/$260 non-member


Wet n Wild – This wonderful, wet week will wow you with all things water! Not only will we visit the seals, sea lions, penguins, and aquariums, but we will also discover how some of our land-loving zoo animals enjoy water during the summer too.  And, of course, we will make sure we stay wet with our own fun water activities!
Camp Dates: June 17-21, July 22-26, August 12-16
Cost: $185 member/$260 non-member


Creature Features – Ever seen a funny looking creature?  Most likely its features play a very important role in the animal’s life!  From removable lizard tails to fish fins that flash light, this week is all about amazing animal adaptations and how they help animals survive in places like the harsh desert and the deep blue sea! 
Camp Dates: June 24-28, July 29-August 2
Cost: $185 member/$260 non-member

Optional OvernightInstead of going home Thursday, camp out in the Discovery Center here at the zoo and take part in some extra fun evening activities all about adaptations of nocturnal animals!

June 27, August 1
Cost: $45 per camper. Dinner and breakfast will be provided.


Where the Wildthings Live – A nest above, a burrow below, animals live everywhere! This week, we will discover how animals are some of the best builders around, constructing homes of all sorts of shapes, sizes, and materials.  As we practice building like the animals do, we will explore how and why animals live where they do!
Camp Dates:  July 8-12, August 5-9
Cost: $185 member/$260 non-member

 

NEW this year – Bricks, Bees and Birds (THREE DAY CAMP) – Blank Park Zoo, Living History Farms and the Science Center of Iowa are joining forces to offer a three day summer camp. Children will visit one of the three organizations each day to explore Bricks, Bees and Birds and valuable stewardship practices.Parents will need to drop-off and pick-up campers at each location.
Camp Dates:
 July 1-3
Cost: $130 Participants must be a member of one or more of the participating organizations. Proof of membership required at time of registration. Membership may be purchased or upgraded at time of registration.
Registration for this camp must be completed through the Science Center of Iowa. To register for this camp call the Science Center of Iowa at 515-274-6868 ext. 222 during normal business hours Monday through Friday.
