Availability: September-May, Monday-Friday
Advance registration: Required 2 weeks in advance
Hours: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Self-guided field trips are available for K-12^th grade schools.

RESERVATION AND PAYMENT

Pricing:

• Students: $6
• 1 adult per 10 students: Free
• Additional adults: $10

Classrooms with special needs please call (515) 974-2550.

Payment Policy:

• Field trips are required to pay with one method of payment: cash, check, credit card or purchase order.
• Adult chaperones must be included on the school bill to receive discounted admission. Adults not included will be subject to general admission rates.

EDUCATIONAL ADD-ONS

Ambassador Animal Programs:
Ambassador Animal Programs are private programs for up to 50 people. Cost is $55 per program and lasts half an hour.

• Program times are 10:00, 11:00, 1:00 or 2:00
• Groups over 50 can request multiple programs

Vet Clinic Tours:
Vet Clinic Tours are private behind the scenes tours of our Animal Health Center for up to 15 people. These tours are best suited for High School students. Cost is $100 per tour and lasts half an hour.

• Programs must be scheduled 4 weeks prior to your visit
• Tour times are determined by vet staff availability

Career Panels:
Career Panels are an opportunity for students to engage with different Zoo staff and explore the different career options available at a Zoo. Career panels are best suited for Middle School and High School students. Cost is $55 and lasts half an hour.

• Programs must be scheduled 4 weeks prior to your visit
• Panel times are 11:00 or 1:00
