Join us as we hear from three wildlife heroes, giving us hope for the future of wildlife. A portion of all revenue made at Blank Park Zoo goes to save animals in the WILD.
The 2018 speakers include Ian Nichols, Susie Louis and Michele Miller. Each speaker will share how they use their unique talents to save wildlife. From wildlife photography to exotic animal veterinary care, each speaker has remarkable journey to help preserve the natural world.
RHINO CONSERVATION IN AFRICA – PAST, PRESENT, AND HOW WE CAN AFFECT THE FUTURE
Michele Miller is the veterinary advisor for hippos, rhinos, and elephants for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. She moved to South Africa in 2013 and is currently the National Research Foundation South African Research Chair in Animal TB at Stellenbosch University, although she is based full-time in Kruger National Park. Miller is actively involved in wildlife research and conservation and has a passion for all things “big and gray.” She has developed a life-long commitment to improve knowledge to provide better welfare for human-managed animals and conservation of wild populations.

All students will be included in a special Q&A session after each presentation. These sessions are catered to help your students channel their passions and find out how to be a positive change in the world.

Every teacher who brings 25 students or more to the entire series will be awarded a behind the scenes tour with their attending students at Blank Park Zoo (Some restrictions apply)
