If your event is due to take place outside we offer our indoor facility for 25% of the specified rental space in case of an unwanted weather emergency. The offer is optional and dependent on space availability.
The use of outdoor and indoor exhibits is included in the Premium Wedding Packages. Animals go in a half hour before sunset for the safety of zookeepers and staff.
Please discuss rehearsal time with your event coordinator. An hour and a half is included within your ceremony fee, but time depends on the calendar of events for the week and available time. The zoo also features rooms for your rehearsal dinner. Your event coordinator will be happy to discuss a personalized opportunity.
Yes, with approval from your event coordinator. Flowers and plants may not be brought from home gardens or farmers markets. Balloons, glitter, straws, swizzle sticks, plastic stirrers, rice, birdseed, and bubbles are not allowed in the indoor or outdoor exhibits. We also do not permit the use of nails, hooks, tacks, or screws on the walls of the indoor facility. Lighting within the Discovery Center may only be in the colors of white, blue, or green. Both the indoor and outdoor locations provide easy opportunities for your personal touch and creativity.
Yes, you may have music at your event, as long as the coordinator is aware of their presence in advance and desired location of the music. We do not allow fog or bubble machines, strobe, laser, or cop lights in the exhibits to provide the additional safety for our animals. Please ask your Event Coordinator for more details about DJ lighting restrictions.
Blank Park Zoo offers various audio visual equipment for your use. Projector and screen, microphone and speakers are available in most spaces. Please discuss further details with your event coordinator.
A non-refundable deposit (half of the rental fee) is required at the signing of the contract. The sooner you sign, the sooner you save the date!
Blank Park Zoo requires the use of a security guard at any event dispensing alcoholic beverages or any event using the grounds outside normal business hours. The security charge is $25 per hour with a minimum of two hours billed.
